Our son got married this past weekend and we have happily gained a new daughter.
For weeks before the big day, I was busy getting two guest rooms ready for family traveling in from out of state. Guest Room 1, as we call it, was probably the easier of the two rooms to pull together since so much of it was already done like new paint on the walls and already having a king bed.
Here are a few images I shared earlier this year of this sad sad room.
And now after…
I added new bedding from Wayfair. You can find information on my post about creating the fence headboard here.
I repaired and repainted two side tables my dad made me when I got my first apartment over twenty years ago. After painting the tables gray I added some red, white and blue accessories. (More on the repair of the side table in another post coming soon)
Switched out the green area rug with a brown one from the living space in the basement. You can read more about the updated blue cabinet here.
And I added some new neutral colored sheer curtains from JCPenny.
My daughter says this room has a rustic “beachy” feel but I just think it is so much nicer than before. I will leave this room as done for now until we remodel the whole basement in the future (hopefully in the next two years) and then this room will be repainted and have new flooring instead of the original concrete floor.
Later this week I will share with you a post on Guest Bedroom 2 that was my son’s bedroom.
