Small little footstools remind me of my grandmother. She had a small vintage one when I was growing up that we used to make-believe was a two story doll house, a mountain to climb, a spring to jump off of, and something we constantly moved out of her living room into other spaces making her look for it on a daily basis. Those are some great memories. A few years ago I found a similar vintage foot stool in a thrift store and tried to reupholster it to be a cute stool for my niece but it just didn’t work out as I planned. So I have decided to reupholster it again in colors for my master bedroom. This is truly an adorable stool makeover.

The owl fabric was cute but wouldn’t hold up to use.
The owl fabric just didn’t work out very well. The fabric was too thin to really hold up well and the pink ribbon border just wouldn’t hold up in place either. Frustrated with my efforts I just put the stool back into my craft closet and forgot about it. Until I decided to pair it up with a chair for my master bedroom.

This really is the cutest little stool! It’s great that you can change up the look with fabric. I like the bright and colorful stool. #HomeMattersParty
Thanks Nicole.
That is too cute! I need to search for a couple small stools like this – my girls would love them! Then I could cover them all girly and stuff! Thanks for sharing these great tips at the #HomeMattersParty 🙂
Thanks Kristen.
What a cute stool. I love the pop of colour it gives
I love up-cycling things too and you did a great job on this little stool. It’s ready for many more years of love 🙂 Thanks for sharing on To Grandma’s House We Go!
Thanks so much!
It looks great now, love the bold stripes. The owl fabric was so cute, though, it’s kind of sad you could keep it. Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty Link Party. Pinned.
Thanks for visiting Teresa. I really liked the owl fabric too but it just wasn’t the right fit for the stool.
What a bright, colorful stool! I love that you chose to give it a new life in your bedroom.
Thanks. I do use it a lot these days. Thanks for visiting.
It is so bright and pretty. Little stools are so handy also.
Fun color choice! Great tutorial.
Thanks Audra.
