DIY Spring Wreaths – Take Two. How To Easily Update Them.

You don’t always have to make a new wreath every season.

Yes, I just typed that sentence.  Me, the person who always enjoys making a new wreath for every season.

But sometimes, you are perfectly content with reusing your previously created DIY wreaths for another year. Especially when you are short on time and the wreaths still look great.

With some creative tweaks and updates, you can easily repurpose an existing DIY wreath creation for another year.

Today I am updating 3 DIY Spring Wreaths I have previously featured on the blog and showing you how I am updating them to reuse this year.

3 different Spring Wreath updates

Each one of these beautiful Spring wreaths is unique in its own way.

One is made of leftover Spring ribbons tied around a wire wreath frame accented with a rustic loopy bow.

The second one combines a pre-made small faux greenery wreath from my mom’s craft stash with colorful tulip stems and a wispy bow.

The third is a wood beaded wreath with DIY bunny ears accented with pink tulip stems and raffia.

They all still look fantastic even though I made them in the last two to three years.

With a bit of love and DIY tweaks, I have refreshed them for another Spring season.

The larger of the three wreaths is filled with contrasting black, white, and tan ribbons, and a bright yellow ribbon accented with tiny bees.

As you can imagine, I was not going to untie dozens of tightly wrapped ribbons to change the look of this beautiful wreath.  Instead, I determined it needed a big statement bow at the top.

I removed the gathered loops of rustic ribbon that initially adorned the wreath’s top and replaced it with a more generously sized bow of white burlap ribbon attached with a pipe cleaner to the outer ring of the wire wreath frame.

This fun wreath is once again hanging at my main entrance to enjoy until Summer.

The second wreath makeover required a simple item to revamp this faux greenery and floral wreath.

This wreath, accented with small flowers in a variety of colors and white ribbon, took me less than ten minutes to assemble.

It’s a simple and colorful expression of Spring, and I like it just the way it is.

That doesn’t mean it couldn’t use something more to improve it.

On a recent trip to my local Dollar Tree, I impulsively purchased a bag of orange twine faux carrots. The only thing the wreath needed was more texture and color around the yellows and oranges of the tulips, and these twine carrots were easily attached with hot glue.

Add on a bunny tail and ribbon.

This third DIY Spring wreath is just a precious and fun wreath I made last year.  Created to look like the outline of a bunny head crowned with flower accents and a simple burlap bow, I knew it was a wreath I would keep for a long time.

When I started the other wreath updates, I didn’t know how I wanted to update this one, so I saved it for last.

After going through my old stash of ribbons, I decided that this bright pink roll of ribbon blended beautifully with the colors in the pink tulip crown.

I didn’t want to remove the sweet little burlap bow this beaded wreath already had, so I created a few simple loops of pink ribbon and hot-glued them underneath the original burlap loops.

Inspired by how elegantly the addition of the bright pink ribbon updated this wreath, I then quickly made a simple double-looped bow for the bottom curve of the beaded circle and glued on a white pom pom leftover from my Christmas projects for a cute little bunny tail accent.

DIY Spring Wreaths – Take Two!

This year, my schedule is so overloaded with DIY projects and home renovations that I struggled with inspiration for new Spring wreath ideas.

Luckily, I realized that instead of creating a new wreath design and crafting a whole wreath, I could easily update a few previous year’s wreath creations to even more beautiful wreaths.

Other wreath makers would probably agree with me that updating and repurposing a previously loved wreath is just as satisfying as starting from an empty wreath form.
