My screen porch is one of my favorite areas in our home. Over the years I have collected some random pieces of furniture to furnish it on a budget. One of my favorite and budget friendly DIY updates was on an unfinished wicker chair I inherited from an old job site.
With a few cans of spray paint I was able to give this very plain wicker chair a new personality.

When I worked as a professional Interior Designer, we often had to purchase sample pieces for consideration for a large project. Other times, we were given samples by larger vendors because they wanted me to use their products. Either way these samples could then end up in a storage facility for years.
And as with any excess storage or even craft room supplies – you have to clean out and throw things away eventually.
I hated to throw perfectly good furniture away, so I often found great places to donate these items or someone who needed them.
This wicker chair is a fabulous Palecek brand chair that had been ordered in a natural finish for a job as a sample. As with many design samples in design firms, this chair was pushed to the back of storage where it sat for years until we cleaned it out and divided up or donated the samples.
Of course I nabbed this wicker chair from the surplus stash as a great addition to my screen porch – or any other room in my house if needed.
Wicker will absorb a lot of spray paint!
Spray paint and new fabric equals a new chair.

I really like the brown and the material on the pillow would go nicely in any room. Pinned and shared.
Thanks so much for visiting Carol.
It looks great! It looks like it was made to be that rich brown color
I think so too. Thanks for visiting.
Dark brown looks beautiful on that chair, Donna. #HomeMattersParty
