Home Matters Linky Party #589
Welcome to the weekly Home Matters Linky Party #589
A great place to come, share your blog posts, and make new friends.
We are so glad you are here with us each week.
Welcome to another weekend of the Home Matters Linky Party!ย
I have been playing thrift store bingo this past week. Probably with hundreds of other shoppers as well.
In our area, and a few other counties, there is a chain of thrift stores called KARM – Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries. It is a non-profit that runs a homeless shelter, drug rehab programs, women’s shelters, and so many other programs. Over the years, they have expanded to 26 stores and now have two yearly Christmas stores that open in August each year. They also offer amazing career and college programs for their employees, from what I have heard.ย
Anyway, they are having a bingo card challenge this month to encourage everyone to shop at as many of the stores as possible to win prizes.
I decided it would be a fun adventure to visit stores I have never been to before to scout out as many vintage toys as I could for my fund-raiser-themed Christmas tree for the Children’s Hospital – which is going to be a Santa’s Workshop themeย – all while getting my bingo card stamped.ย
Shopping for vintage-inspired toys is something I know I will need to do to keep the costs down for my tree. Having the challenge of a bingo card to fill out in one month is motivation to get it done. Seven stores in one week down, and I have already found some treasures. But that is a story for another time.
So glad you are visiting with us this week!

The New Role Of The Blog Link Party

Hi Donna- I love the Santa’s workshop theme. That’s going to look amazing and I love that your are thrifting for toys- amazing! Good luck with your Bingo card girl. Thanks for party. XO- MaryJo
Thanks MaryJo. I have realized that by shopping at the thrift store I am supporting one charity while preparing for another charity event. So far I have found some great vintage toy options to go in the tree and around the base of it. It has been fun and I have 10 stores off my Bingo card done. I don’t expect to have time to visit all 26 stores but I will get more than half of them done.
Thank you for the feature Donna!!! Have a great weekend, Kathy
