Welcome to another weekend of the Home Matters Linky Party! 

If you visited last week, you may remember that I told the story about how I am playing a thrift store bingo challenge while shopping for vintage toys for a fundraiser themed tree in November.  I have been able to find some fun treasures for both the tree and to go around the bottom of the tree.

So far, I have found a Gund Classic Pooh Bear for a steal! A stuffed Paddington Bear, a small stuffed version of the polka dot elephant from the Rudolph story (surprised to find it), a vintage wooden dog toy with wheels (it’s missing an ear but I didn’t care), an eight-inch porcelain doll with a pink dress and curly hair in great condition, small toy horses, and a larger horse to go underneath the tree.

A plastic firetruck was a great find, and a big box of around 200 wooden alphabet blocks for just $4.99!  I am really excited about the blocks because I plan to use them as ornaments, garland, and maybe even a stacked tree craft project.  I am still on the hunt for toy trains before the end of the month.

I have also realized that while I am shopping for vintage toys, I am supporting one charity, while gathering all of these things to support a different one later. I guess it is a win-win either way!

It has definitely been fun.
