It is a sad time, with Dolly’s passing this week. As you can imagine, since I live outside of Sevierville, TN, her hometown, her passing feels especially personal to so many in our area. Her compassion and love for the people of the Smoky Mountains were one of her special legacies. Although I never considered myself her biggest fan, I have always loved her music, movies, theme parks, and just watching her embrace her next adventure. This past June, when I joined Country Living Magazine for a special weekend at Dollywood, I was once again reminded of just how amazing she was. My husband commented that heaven’s choir is in for a grand transformation! RIP, Dolly. You have earned it.
Now on to this week’s party! I can’t wait to see you there.

The New Role Of The Blog Link Party
I was also sad about Dolly passing! She was a wonderful person. Out daughter an dfamily recently vacationed in TN and went to Dollywood and had a wonderful time. Dolly was suposed to be there as a new ride was opening but she sent a video instead as she was ill–it was a schock to hear of her death a week later!
Thanks Pat. Everyone seems to be shocked by her death. I hope your family loved visiting East TN.

Happy Friday and happy weekend, too, Donna! I love your husband’s comment about Dolly. She truly was someone who walked the walk of kindness. Thanks so much for hosting this creative party each week. We always find lots of inspiration here!

I was not a fan of Dolly as a singer as I am not a fan of country music at all BUT I loved and admired her as a songwriter, a smart business woman, someone who was not dependent on a man, was different and used that to her advantage, her unconditional love for every human being, her support of the LGBTQ community and Black Lives Matter movement and most of all , for her philanthropy, which many of the billionaires and political figures today could definitely learn a lesson from… I am deeply saddened by her passing because the world has lost a totally wonderful, non judgemental human being who loved everyone.

We are all in mourning for Dolly, even those of us in the North. Her passing has deeply affected us all. She was such a light in the world when there is currently a lot of darkness.
