Welcome to the first edition of Monticello Mentions.  

I am trying something new and I hope you enjoy it.

Every week as a blogger I come across great articles and home decor finds that I find interesting – but never really share with my regular audience. Also, I happen to live near one of the most visited vacation spots on the East coast and there is always something happening that I should share. 

My goal for this weekly weekend email is to encourage you to slow down, maybe discover some new things for your home, read a great article or two, or inspire you to plan a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains area. 

So let’s get started.

 

For those of us who live in a Mid-Century Modern inspired home, this recent article by Atomic Ranch magazine was very insightful about the future of the beloved style.

 

 

Care Bears Kits are available!

I am on my fifth crochet kit from Woobles (Christmas present from my daughter) and I am so tempted to get the latest kits they just released. 

 

Last month I shared a post about our slow reno approach for our home.  It seems that we aren’t the only ones embracing this trend.  Check out this article from Country Living Magazine online. 

 

If you are a Cricut enthusiast or a wannabe, they just released two new machines in the last two weeks.

 

 

Start a miniature garden on your windowsill.

Finally, I am sharing something adorable my husband recently bought me: a Buzzy Seeds miniature Grow Your Own Daisy kit with a container shaped like a vintage Volkswagen Bug. 

They have so many other fun kits worth checking out this Spring and can be found on their website and Amazon. I have already put two kid kits in my cart for my granddaughter’s upcoming birthday.
