This post was originally featured about two years ago, but is is fun and inexpensive to make that I decided to update it and share it again.
A quick trip to your local Dollar Tree and you should be able to find inspiration for any theme of flip flop wreath. For mine, I decided to go with a popular pink flamingo theme.
Of course it will not match anything else in my home, but it is just so fun for the summer months. That is part of the fun of making a seasonal wreath. The wreath is temporary and can be whatever you want it to be.
And it should be fairly inexpensive. I only spent around $7 at Dollar Tree to make this wreath.
I may or may not have also bought some pink flamingo tableware and chair cushions for my screen porch room just because they are so adorable. But I can’t show that room to you right now because it is being renovated this summer as part of the One Room Challenge™. I hope you will check out those posts as well.
Below are the fun flip flops that inspired my wreath.
I used three pairs of size small flip flops. Two with a pink flamingo design and one plain pink pair.
Pink Flamingo Flip Flop Wreath
For my version of a flip flop wreath I choose easy items to find at Dollar Tree with pink flamingos and pink flowers. I added bright pink clip on daisies, yellow sunglasses, and a flashing pink flamingo necklace as the hanger. I thought it would be pretty cute to use the pink flamingo necklace to hang the wreath.
To attach the size small flip flops together I tried the E6000 glue. Honestly, this was the first time I have used the E6000 glue and found it a bit messy at first. It worked though to hold the flip flops together in a slight arch.
I switched to my hot glue gun to attach the flowers and sunglasses to the flip flops. The pink flamingo necklace is wrapped around the toe thong on the back of the flip flop and secured with more hot glue.
This is one of the more whimsical wreaths I have ever made. It was such fun and I plan to enjoy it either at my back entrance or the screen porch room for the entire summer.
Psalm 20:4 “May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”
What a fun wreath! I like the flamingo print.
Cute idea! This would be great hanging at a beach house or pool area. I’d love it if you would share this at our weekly link up. I think our readers would love your projects. I hope you stop by 🙂 https://handmadeweekly.com/handmade-otherwise-link-party-week-3/
