I shared this inspirational sign project a few years ago but it is still one of my favorites. Considering the year 2020, this little sign is a good reminder for the new year.

One of the things I found while cleaning out my craft room was this small, 6″ x 6″ wood pallet I purchased at Hobby Lobby years ago. I thought it was adorable so I bought it for only $2.99.
Then of course I had no idea what to do with it.
So it sat in the craft room for a long time like a lot of my impulse buys do. Until I decided to pull it out to make a simple inspirational sign with one of my favorite Bible verses.
At the time I made this sign it was for inspiration for my new year’s goals and for the challenge. But now, when I look at it, it reminds me that the problems of today and yesterday will pass and we can focus on the promises of tomorrow’s future.
Perfect reminder for 2021!
I actually found this little printout of Isaiah 43 on Pinterest and have liked it so well it is even on my office memo board.
Small Inspirational Wood Pallet Sign
For this project you will need
- 6″ x 6″ Wood Pallet
- Small thin tipped craft brush
- Black Acrylic Paint
- Printer and paper
- Colored Chalk
- Fine Tipped Sharpie Marker
I used a technique I have used several times before to make a wood sign.
First you cover the back of the printout with colored chalk and then place it on top of the wood sign chalk side down. Then you use a pencil to trace the letters.
Tracing the letters leaves a small chalk imprint on the wood. It was then a matter of using a very small craft brush and black paint to fill in the letters.
I also used a fine tip blue Sharpie to write the verse reference below the scripture just to give it a bit of color.
I hung the small sign below my bath vanity cabinets. This adorable little sign will be a reminder and a challenge to me each morning.

I love that Bible verse. What a fun way to create a beautiful reminder of living in the present. Thanks for sharing and partying at the #HomeMattersParty 🙂

This is such a cute, sweet little pallet sign! Now I want to hunt down these mini pallets!
Thanks for visiting Megan. I haven’t looked for those mini pallets since last year so good luck when you go shopping.
Love your sweet sign and your great tutorial. I always have such a hard time with spacing of letters using a stencil. Think would be better using your technique or hand lettering using a marker over pencil….Will try your way as have a sign idea in mind.
Glad I clicked on your project .
Happy week.
Thanks for visiting and I’m glad you liked it. Good luck with your sign.
That little pallet sign is so cute! Those would make a nice gift as well. #HomeMattersParty
CUTE! And let me tell you, if I had a craft room, I would certainly need to be a part of the challenge LOL Great job sticking with it!
Thanks. I still have a lot to get done.
Great idea. We have an old wooden duckboard that never seems to get used any more. It’s like a heavier version of your mini pallet, i think it might be worth upcycling it in the same way. Thanks for inspiring me! #HomeMattersParty
What a cute idea, and a great way to start the day!
Thanks for visiting Cherryl
Such a pretty sign Donna! Love the quote!
Thanks Michelle. I saw this same verse the very next day on a Proverbs 31 Woman post and have figured that God is trying to tell me something. Looking forward to new things.
I have a number of things I’ve picked up to use later. Like you, I’m grateful for the Destash Challenge. The was a great tip to use the colored chalk as a transfer medium and I love the sentiment of the verse you’ve chosen. Nice!
The wood sign turned out lovely and thank you so much for sharing the transfer technique using the blue chalk. Genious!!!
I love the quote on the little pallet sign. It is a wonderful way to start the day.
What a lovely sentiment and sweet reminder to look forward! ‘Something we all need to remember. -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

Your mini palette is super cute. What a good idea to use it as an inspirational canvas.
You can’t go wrong with a Bible verse to start off the day! Love your sign! Thanks for the tutorial too. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who buys things & then has no idea what to do with them, LOL. Visiting from the Blog Hop.
Hello ,
I saw your tweets and thought I will check your website. Have to say it looks very good!
I’m also interested in this topic and have recently started my journey as young entrepreneur.
I’m also looking for the ways on how to promote my website. I have tried AdSense and Facebok Ads, however it is getting very expensive. Was thinking about starting using analytics. Do you recommend it?
Can you recommend something what works best for you?
I also want to improve SEO of my website. Would appreciate, if you can have a quick look at my website and give me an advice what I should improve: http://janzac.com/
(Recently I have added a new page about FutureNet and the way how users can make money on this social networking portal.)
I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂
Hope to hear from you soon.
P.S.
Maybe I will add link to your website on my website and you will add link to my website on your website? It will improve SEO of our websites, right? What do you think?
Regards
Jan Zac
What a great little reminder to concentrate on the now rather than the past!
