It is not yet summer but I couldn’t imagine a better time to put up a patriotic themed mantel display than Memorial Day. Red, White and Blue decor is perfect for that day and all throughout the summer – at least until Labor Day – and that is how long I intend to keep this display up. I enjoyed creating several new DIY projects for this mantel, but for today I will just show you the entire mantel in all of the fantastic colors of red, white, and blue.

The first inspiration for this patriotic mantel display was this vintage truck painted in patriotic colors that I found at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago. I have been looking for a small vintage truck for some time for my mantel but they usually had a price tag that I just couldn’t justify paying. But with Hobby Lobby’s coupon and phone app, I was able to score this vintage truck at 40% off! I’m sure after the summer, this truck will find a permanent home somewhere else in our house.
This Summer Patriotic Mantel is created with several red, white and blue DIY projects.
A few of the DIY projects I created for this mantel include the flag tray, the patriotic flower, the house trio, the mason jars, the garland, and the small signs. Several of these I will create new posts for in the next few weeks.
The large wooden lantern is also a Hobby Lobby find purchased on clearance several months ago. Originally planned for use for my daughter’s wedding, I may just keep it for the mantel along with it’s matching mate.
The flower stems I napped at the Dollar Tree when they first released their patriotic decor last month.
The painted baseballs on the hearth are from a post I did a few years ago in honor of my dad’s love of the game. And the basket, you have seen those before when I created a popcorn bar for my daughter’s wedding shower and featured the baskets in this basket makeover post.
As many times as I change out the decor on our mantel every year, I think this one is the first one my husband made a comment on how much he liked it – without me asking for his opinion.
