Last Wednesday night, I made an impulsive, last-minute decision that really affected my blog writing for the next 8 weeks – I joined the Spring One Room Challenge just hours before it opened up for links.
I wasn’t even registered to join, but I did it! To be honest, I had been thinking about it for weeks to feature our guest bedroom renovation, which is about 80% done, and I wanted to join the challenge to motivate myself to finish the room.
Does anyone else work better with a deadline?
However, with the warmer months finally here, my husband and I have naturally transitioned to planning and working on outdoor projects, like cleaning out the garage and landscaping. A big one: we have finally ordered the new garage door!
My husband asked that I not involve him in any plans to finish the guest room at this time. So, unless I grow some larger arm muscles to replace two damaged interior doors myself, the guest room reveal needs to wait until the Fall challenge.
While shopping for a new yard tractor, we found some patio furniture that we both liked for our front deck. We have never fully set up either of the new decks because so many exterior renovations, like the vinyl siding, were still ongoing for two years. The garage door is the last of that project.
Finding new furniture meant the discussion turned to the painting needed on the exterior doors, whether we would want outdoor rugs for each deck area, and whether we should find new planters, etc. It was at that moment that I realized I had found my project for the Spring One Room Challenge!
So I jumped right in. Without a plan or any schedule for how to get it all done. It is going to be a busier couple of weeks than I envisioned, but I am so excited to get these projects done! I hope you will visit the posts as I share them.
