Welcome to the weekly Home Matters Linky Party #591
A great place to come, share your blog posts, and make new friends.
We are so glad you are here with us each week.
Welcome to another weekend of the Home Matters Linky Party!
This week I visited the last few thrift stores I could fit into my schedule and turned in my Bingo card. I am not expecting to win any of the gift card prizes (but that would be awesome if I did) because I mainly used the challenge to complete my search for vintage style toys for my fundraiser Christmas tree.
Are you wondering what I found this week?
First, I found a random bag of vintage Fisher-Price Little People. Do you remember those? Just round little bodies with a head. Nothing like the very detailed Little People available today. I am thinking of turning them into ornaments somehow.
On a second sweep through the toy section in another store, I spied a colorful metal box hidden underneath big plastic toys. Turns out it was a Jack Rabbit Creations Dog Jack-in-the-Box. The one that has a spotted dog that pops out instead of a clown. Since I am not a fan of clowns, I like the dog much better. The date on the bottom is 2002, so I looked it up. Some are listed on Ebay at $79.99! I paid a whopping $4.99 for mine, and it works! I may be tempted to keep this find, but we shall see.
The last vintage toy I need to find is a train, which I am sure I can find an inexpensive version that looks vintage online.
Now I am turning my attention to tree topper ideas. I would love to hear your suggestions for a topper idea that fits the Santa’s Workshop theme.
So glad you are visiting with us this week!
Now on to this week’s party! I can’t wait to see you there.
