Some seasons in life are unexpected and so very hard. Out of no where can come an explosion of chaos and confusion that affects so many lives around you, including your own.
I have experienced this more times in my life than I care to remember, and this week my family has been thrust into a time of great chaos like we never imagined.
Not going to share the personal details online, but I covet everyone’s prayers.
In previous life altering circumstances that have been hard, such as losing my job at the same time my father was dying. Or when my husband was deployed for nearly three years, or when a freak accident put him in a wheelchair for six months, I have looked back and realized that it was during those difficult times that I grew the most in my faith, my courage, and my strength. This time will not be any different.
So, in this new and unexpectedly hard Spring season, I plan to focus daily on the some of the simple joys of Spring. I hope you will join me.

Every morning that I can, I will sit on my back deck and drink my coffee while listening to the birds chirp in their busyness of the morning search for food. Even though the thick pollen of the south will cover every surface each morning and make me cough, I will daily enjoy the outdoors.
I will start to plan a garden and start the work on new plantings in my flower beds. Including the location of the fairy garden I plan to enjoy with my two granddaughters.
Spring cleaning is going to be something to enjoy this year that will include a deep purge and decluttering of our closets. Time to fill up those donation boxes again while cleaning out the chaos and clutter in my mind.
All of the candles in my home will be switched to welcoming scents of florals and citrus that will uplift the mood in our home after a long dreary winter.
We will plan our next vacation!
Don’t know when or to where, but we will make plans for a dream vacation we have talked about for years.
The large mantel, the bookshelves, and all of the flat surfaces in our home will be decked out in bright florals and springs colors perfect for a new season.
My indoor plants will get some attention and love as I repot some of them and move them to new locations to add new life to other areas of my home.
I will finally start a gratitude journal.
It is Estate sale and garage sale season again! I have already started to enjoy this part of the warmer weather traditions.
We will plan more menus around cooking outside on the grill
Bright colored Spring pillows and a new wreath will be out on display.
I am going to learn how to make some new Spring time desserts shared on my weekly link party.
You might notice that my blogging might shift a little. This too may be a good thing.
And finally, I will cuddle with my granddaughter more often, visit my son when our grandson is born this Spring, visit my mom as much as I can, and hug all my loved ones tight.
Happy Spring y’all.
Isaiah 43:2 “When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.”
