The interior damage to our home
Two weeks ago, when I first postedย hereย about the tree falling on our home, we didn’t know the damage going on inside the house.ย Our house has suffered extensive interior damage from the tree.
A few days after the tree hit the house, we realized that our bedroom carpet and the carpet in the master bath (which I hate) were getting wet.
A plumber confirmed that the tree had indeed hit the roof where the vent stacks for the master bath plumbing were located and shoved it down into the walls about 2 feet, breaking all the plumbing pipes and shattering them on the basement floor in the basement bathroom.
What was initially thought to be just roof damage quickly became a whole master bedroom, master bathroom, and basement bathroom remodel project in our future.
The damage estimated is well over $40,000 at this point.
The water flooded down into the basement bathroom and bedrooms.
