A few weeks ago, Photowall, a custom wallpaper and print website, reached out to me about contributing new artwork for any projects I had going on. Well most of my big projects are slotted for next year, however, I found a piece of canvas art on their site that inspired me to finally give my master bathroom a little bit of a makeover.
Disclaimer: I received product from Photowall.com in exchange for mention in this post. The selection and opinion of the product and company are all my own.
If you have never checked out the amazing artwork, canvas prints, and even wall murals from Photowall.com then you really need to check them out.
Over the years, I have received two other canvas prints from them, one for a promotion and one from a giveaway on another site.
Both times I have been thoroughly impressed with the vast amount of options on the site, and how quickly you receive the product. You can see one of them in my Industrial Modern Room Family Room and in my dining room, which will get a small makeover next year.
The product is so easy to assemble too. With my large canvas print, I also received a custom built frame to attach it and hardware to hang the art.
But what about my bathroom makeover inspiration?
My master bathroom presents several challenges for me as a designer, most importantly in how to distract the eye from my 1970’s blue fixtures. The master bathroom is one of two bathrooms in my home that have the dusty blue toilets, shower stalls, and sinks that were popular in the late 1970’s when our home was built.
My last house had purple bathroom with purple tiles, sink and toilet so I am thankful this blue is easier to work around at least.
Our bathroom fixtures will be very expensive to replace because we will have to cut a hole in the exterior wall to get the large jet tub out.
Not something we can do anytime soon with other major repairs needed on our home right now like new windows so I have ignored the décor in the master bathroom for many years.
But the room can get a small makeover until then.
I found an image on the Photowall.com site that just grabbed my attention immediately. And I kept going back to it. Which is a sign that you should get something.
Somehow I knew that with this piece of artwork, and some more blue and gray accessories, I could give my master bathroom with it’s blue fixtures a makeover that was both pretty and modern.
But that part of the story you will have to wait a few more weeks for. With some of the “updates” we now need to do a bit of cosmetic work to the walls and repaint the entire room. That post will be ready to show you in about two weeks.
This post however, is to feature the artwork over the tub and show you just a glimpse of the why it inspired a room makeover.
The vivid blues and bright whites in this large canvas artwork just grab your attention when you walk in the room (instead of the blue fixtures).
If you are searching for artwork, or even just some inspiration for your own room makeover, I strongly suggest you check out the over 70,000 selections available at Photowall.com. I have not been disappoint yet.
