A couple of years ago when I first started blogging, I came across blogging expert Ruth Soukup and her Elite Blog Academy course. Which of course led me to her awesome blog Living Well Spending Less and her best selling books. It would be a couple more years before I would enroll in Elite Blog Academy – or even attempt to finish the course – but in the mean time I have continued to follow Ruth and read her books. Her latest book, Do It Scared® , scheduled to come out on May 21st this year has been a total game changer for me!

Last year, while Ruth was writing this book, she also started a podcast under the same name of Do It Scared. Sometime over the summer I started listening faithfully to the podcast and was hooked. Each Monday she will have a new episode on the podcast all about facing your fears and changing your life.
But it wasn’t until the first of this year that I really got intentional with my time and started re-listening to every episode of the podcast while driving back and forth to work each day. This podcast got me really excited for the book release and I not only pre-ordered the book when it was available but I also joined the book launch team and was able to read the book early.
Let me just tell you, it is just so good!
If you want to dive deep in to your fears that are holding you back from achieving your full potential and reaching your dreams and goals, you need to read this book and take the fear assessment online. What this assessment will reveal to you is the biggest fear that is holding you back in life and from achieving your goals.
Want to know what my three biggest fears are?
I am first and foremost a Procrastinator. Someone who is most afraid of making a mistake so we put off what we know we should do. For example, I have yet to finish all of the assignments for Elite Blog Academy since I purchased it in 2016! Yes you read that right. Three years of avoiding what I know I should do because I am afraid I will get it wrong the first time.
Next for me is the People Pleaser – someone who is afraid of disappointing others so I put their needs and requests before my own dreams. And third, I am an Outcast. My fear of rejection keeps me from putting myself out there and holds me back.
Does any of these sound like you? Whether you can relate to mine or not, you really need to read the book to find out what inner fears are holding you back.
In the Do It Scared® book, Ruth also covers many chapters on how to overcome your fears, move past what is holding you back from accomplishing your big goals, and just change your mind set and your life.
Honestly, I can’t recommend this new book, available May 21st, and her weekly podcast enough. I have found that listening to her encouraging messages on almost a daily basis is helping me drive out the fears in my mind and helping me move forward.
Just this weekend I received my advanced hardcopy of the book. I immediately handed it to my son to read. In my opinion, my son is this fearless young man who has entered the ministry and has accomplished so many goals at a young age, even publishing his own books and traveling to Nigeria on a mission trip. I just know this is a great book for him to recommend to others during his ministry.
