I have lived in my home for ten years now and have never decorated my mantel for the Fall season. Our front family room with the fireplace has always been the catch all cluttered room, the dog kennel room, and even a temporary bedroom for us when a tree fell on our master bedroom, but now that we have renovated it this year, I can finally show off a fall themed mantel.

Since I am trying to finish up the renovations on this room as inexpensively as possible while also trying to renovate a rental home, I didn’t want to spend any extra money on this display. So I turned to what I already had in my craft stash or any fall inspired projects I had previously completed for the blog and pulled them all together to create this mantel display.

I used items from previous blog post projects to complete my Fall Themed Mantel.
The chevron patterned painted board was first featured here in orange as a backdrop for an outdoor display but since I had already painted the back of the board in a grey chevron pattern it was a good foundation to start with for the mantel display. The “hello Fall” sign was also from that same post.
Next I added the “Bless this Modern Home” sign I featured last week that you can read about here.
The small burlap wreath with bleached pine cones was a project I did two years ago titled $10 wreath in 10 minutes.
The cat tails were given to me after my neice’s Hunting Themed baby shower that I posted about back in February.
The yellow painted pine cones are leftovers from the video tutorial I did for a Hometalk video feature last fall for my Painted Pine Cone Sunflower Wreath.
The pine cones painted to look like candy corn are extras left over from this Candy Corn garland post.
I featured the Easy Fabric Pumpkins in 2015.
I added a few extras to complete the look.
I took all these previously created fall themed projects and put them together with some dollar store fall leaves, glass vases, old books, and fall themed ribbon left over from a wreath project to create a new fall themed mantel display for our home for the first time.
I am really looking forward to decorating for the Christmas holidays this year now that this room is complete (full reveal and details coming soon).

Your mantel is beautiful!! I did not buy anything new this year for my fall decor. Now I am getting ready to add my Halloween decor this week. #HomeMattersParty
Looks great, Donna! I love when you can pull something together with things you already have on hand, that’s always my goal. #HomeMattersPArty
That is always my first goal too. Thanks for visiting.
Lovely mantel, Donna. Like the way the pinecones are painted and displayed. #HomeMattersParty
I love the rustic look of your Fall themed mantel. What a creative way to use the pinecones and cattails to make great decorations. Stopping by from the #HomeMattersParty linky.
